cmbstd Bio

cmbstd is a musical project that started in 2016 when I bought a PO-12 pocket operator drum machine. I started creating music and gradually increased my set-up with more synths. Some very lo-fi tracks eventually materialized as demos.

In 2018 I switched from a hardware setup to Ableton Live and published my first dance tracks on Soundcloud. "Saturday Morning Fever" was one of my first tracks (unreleased), combining elements of tech house and house.

In April 2019 I published my first track "ALPHAWAVES", it is a reflection of my very own first memories of playing PC games back in the 80s. Later that year, in October 2019, I published the very arpeggiated and club-oriented "GATHER" single about my experiences as weekend warrior in clubs.

My music is influenced by basically all subgenres of dance music: house, techno, tech house, EDM, big room, minimal, electro... I also use algorithms and procedurally generated sequences to create my tracks.

I am an independent artist and make music for fun.

I want to make the world a better place by making people dance together.
